Location: The islands are 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and east of Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The Turks and Caicos islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea, and are part of the Eastern Standard Time Zone.

Climate: The average temperature ranges between 85 and 90 degrees Farenheit, June through October. From November to May, the average temperature is 80 to 84 degrees. Water temperature in the summer is 82 to 84 degrees and in winter it ranges from 74 to 78 degrees. Constant trade winds keep the climate very comfortable and in an average year, the Turks and Caicos islands enjoy approximately 350 days of sunshine.

Places of Note:Providenciales is the most well known of the Turks and Caicos Islands and is the center of the tourism industry with a wide assortment of resorts, restaurants, and attractions. Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer Bermudian architecture and a rustic charm. Parrot Cay and Pine Cay are privately owned islands and are home to exclusive resorts.
